ANDREW D. SMITH, Associate



Andrew joined the firm in 2004 and his primary practice areas include commercial litigation, business transactional law, contracts, and bankruptcy. Andrew also has experience with adoptions, labor law, trademarks, trade secrets, and alternative dispute resolution.

Andrew was recently named to the Super Lawyers Mountain States list of Rising Stars for 2010 and 2011. Prior to joining the firm he attended Washburn Law School in Topeka, Kansas, on a full scholarship, and also worked as a teaching assistant in the school’s research and writing program before graduating with honors in 2001.

During law school, Andrew spent a summer studying comparative law at King’s College, London. He returned to Europe after law school, studying comparative law at the University of Limerick in Ireland. Before attending law school, Andrew earned a dual degree in German and English from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He was elected to the Student Senate and Utah Intercollegiate Assembly. He passed the Goethe-Institute’s International Test of Business German (Prüfung Wirtschaftsdeutch), scoring in the top 5% nationally in the oral portion of the exam. He speaks German and Albanian.

Andrew is admitted to practice in Utah and Nevada and practices in both state and federal courts.
